I think the Eliott sisters designing outfits for the Crawley family is, to be sure, much more plausible than Count Grendel's guards, for example, wearing exactly the same helmets as a bunch of Arthurian knights from a parallel universe. Yes, definitely. ;D
As for Downton going into the 20s, could be very interesting indeed.
Although, given the nature of Tara, maybe it is in that same universe, even the same planet at some point?
People still wearing Federation uniforms at the near end of the universe in Frontios, though, is a less attractive prospect. (I like to think, Post-Gauda Prime it finally fell. And then the new free society was, of course, nearly as bad, but that's B7 for you. Or my head canon.)
And, yes, well, you see Downton Abbey will shortly follow some posh folks in the 1920s, and The House of Eliott was a show about two sisters in the 1920s who set up their own fashion house to design clothes for the posh/rich folks - and Lady Edith has been spotted wearing one of Evangeline Eliott's earliest creations from HoE. So you can see how they dovetail beautifully.

Very Who-like, too, in a a way. I always enjoy spotting props/costumes from earlier stories being "recycled".

I do like the 1920s as a period. :-)

(I suppose woohoo! @ the rest too, but I don't know those shows, so it will have to be a theoretical woohoo ;) )
