Okay, I posted The Fic In Question over at Teaspoon:

Prospero's Daughter.
All ages/PG, ~3000 words. Written around the BFA Full Fathom Five (featuring David Collings as an AU Doctor, but no spoilers and should stand alone, as it's set in the audio's 27 year gap). Thanks to clocketpatch for kindly taking a quick look to check I wasn't delirious (or not ( Read more... )

fannish scribbles, ruth mills, doctor who, big finish, david collings

Well, it's not what you'd call mainstream DW... It's not even mainstream BF. :-)

Thanks for reading, btw!

You know, if you want to write *really* obscure Who fic (whether telly or BF), then you're going to have to try *much* harder than that!

Welcome!

Ohhhhhh, this is AMAZING! I must have been in denial about how much I missed your fics. As much as I love your comedies I love your more serious fics too, and your Doctor here is utterly brilliant, all kind and frightening and disillusioned, and Ruth is lovely too, especially here:

Ruth, now a teenaged girl and sensitive to being patronised, only stuck out her tongue in concentration as she completed a diagram, refusing to give him the rapt attention she once had. “Well, I’m not surprised. I don’t believe you, either, Doctor. I know all those stories of yours can’t really be true. I’m not a little girl any more.”

She had been saying that ever since he had met her, although it would be true one of these days - sooner now than seemed possible, even for a human with their mayfly lives.Perfect ( ... )

Thank you. I'm not sure I deserve such a nice review, but it's a wonderful thing to have ( ... )

Well, you're welcome, and yes, yes you did.

Hmm, I do like a bit of dark!Doctor, and audios are much easier to find time to listen to than tv shows... . *puts on ever-expanding list of things to get one day*

Excellent to hear that you will be writing again soon, whatever 'soon' turns out to mean! I hope you've recovered from this one now. Fic hurting your brain is no good. :(

I know I know I know, I *will* post something one day - I only just got the fic_rush one back from my beta, and I'm about to disappear for a few days now, and also I'd like to post all three together if I can finish the others... Sorry!

Don't worry, I shall be patient! (But I won't forget. :-D)

Yes, things are a bit better again, but my level of concentration has gone back down, but that might have happened with other things going on anyway.

Hee, if you like audios, that is not the best Big Finish one to go for. There is The One Doctor and almost anything with Six and Evelyn, and Eight and Charley. (Jubilee, DW & the Pirates, The Chimes of Midnight etc etc). And, um, lots and lots of others. They make too many good ones, and too many generally. I can't keep up... I liked the AU Doctor better than I liked the story, although it wasn't bad - did the doom thing pretty efficiently. (It was set in a sea base. Things never go well in a sea base. This is why in the rl we don't have them. Or I don't think we do...)
