I do not wish to be a nuisance but...

Reccing on calufrax always makes me waffle about it, but if I have not made this clear in passing in previous posts, it is now very short of reccers. I know that most of my flist are one of the merry few remaining/not DW fans/don't read the fic/or really don't want to do it. However, curuchamion was inspired to start a saignal boost post. (dbskyler and aralias have done one each ( Read more... )

All right, all right, I'll sign up. But if I get attacked for any of my recs (again), I shall come crying to you!

Where can one find the Calufrax icons?

Yay!!!!!!!!!

I didn't have nearly the bad experience you did, but I confess that I was worried about signing up to rec again after I recced a fic that was removed for bashing. I wondered if the mod would even want me again -- obviously my taste can't be trusted! -- and I worried that others would go, "who's letting her rec again?" Worse yet, I began to distrust my own taste, and I wondered if other fics that I really liked were appropriate to rec or not.

But then there were all these fics that I wanted to rec, and they were sitting there with not nearly the number of reviews they deserved, so I decided I should go ahead and volunteer and see what happened. And it all worked out! The mod let me rec, and most of the fics picked up lots of new reviews, and everything was fine.

I honestly believe that everything will go fine for you, too. Besides, probably the best revenge you can have on those jerks from last time is to not let them succeed in shutting you up. You're back! More Martha!fic for all!

*hugs*

Oh dear. I do feel guilty about subscribing to Calufrax and never reccing, but my life isn't giving me the opportunity to keep caught up with fanfic. Also, I'm not interested in fannish ridicule over my not reading Nine or Ten and Rose... :-p

Aw. This was why I didn't repost the actual signal boost here - I've gone on about this enough to everyone & the last thing I want is to make people feel bad!! There's never any reason to feel guilty if you can't do something.

It's only that the comm is still busy at the mo with readers, so I think it's a good thing to see if we can pass this on and spell out the current lack of reccers, because the mod is waiting as yet. There are a lot of people still around who have done it & who might be interested. (If you ever do want to take the plunge, though, I have NEVER had nasty guff off anyone for reccing mainly classic who stuff - I usually throw in at least one New Who story as well, I admit, but people do sometimes take an era or a theme for the week & just vary up the genres or pairings & nobody minds that.)

Sorry. Edited for incoherence.

You convinced me to sign up! Hopefully going to stab a guess at some great Recs in either July or September (on holidays for an undetermined period in August so I don't want to risk putting anything down then!).

Wahey!! *parties*

I'll look forward to seeing what you dig out from the Spoon. I am always amazed how much good stuff is hiding on it that I have missed.

Thanks, I'll be doing Sept 5-11 now! There's at least two authors who I'm amazed don't get more attention that I will hopefully Rec if no one has done so by then (and even then I'll probably do so anyway!) My time also concludes on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 too and I know of a memorial fic which if I can track it down on Whofic should suit the day well enough.

Outside that I'll probably opt for the wide amount of stuff which lies in my interest - Third Doctor stuff, Fifth Doctor Stuff, Dalek Stuff... whatever suits at the time really. If nothing else I'll be sure to check what have been suggested in the past (and hopefully pick up a couple new fav authors and stories in the process to go with you, Primsong and the like!)
