I flipped through Yuletide Madness, and A-L of Yuletide2010.

Because they're rare fandoms, I don't know who will might be interested, but my picks so far:

One that should interest the flist, first:
The Curse of Fatal Death (DW comic relief sketch)
Sometime, Later in the TARDIS2201 words, Teen (esp. at end). What the Lumley Doctor and Pryce ( Read more... )

yuletide, doctor who, dungeons and dragons cartoon, recs, fannish scribbles, spooks, chrestomanci chronicles, chalet school, blake's 7, northanger abbey, fairy tales

Even fic-apathetic yours truly could not resist the sound of that first listing, and OMG, what a blast! Thanks so much for the link. I think this is going to be with me for a long time:

“INCORRECT. WE HAVE. CAREFULLY RESEARCHED. BEING GOOD.”

“THERE WAS NOTHING. ABOUT PLANETARY INVASION. IN. EMILY POST!”

Yes, I know - who let Steven Moffat join Yuletide this year? :-D

The Daleks' idea of what being good is was also my favourite. Well, that and several other things.

No, the two stories were written by my kind Yuletide writer, who had two ideas and wrote both for me! (In the Madness ficlet, by somebody else, she's off to study History instead.) My prompt was something along the lines of 'More Janet, please...' And her being sensible, and what such a practical person found to do in Chrestomanci's world. (I've been disappointed by the way DWJ has seemed to lump her and Julia together in some of the more recent books, so I was simply after Janet being Janet.)

Wow, FOUR gifts? It's your first Yuletide and you've already trumped my three-year stash. You must have given the best prompts ever!

 I know I feel both immensely smug and sort of guilty at the same time!

My prompts were mostly rubbish; my Yuletide writer was kind enough to write my two fics from the prompt she took on - and someone else also liked that one too. I think the character I picked on has been rather neglected in canon and is well-liked. Also, Diana Wynne Jones fans see Yuletide as their annual and only chance for fic and do their best to get as much as possible. If you want several fics, request DWJ!!

Plus, someone presumably saw how much I wanted Blake's 7 fic from the way I couldn't keep my prompt/letter from being a long, waffly wish-list of love for it, and took pity on me, very kindly.

But, yes, am smug and happy and slightly guilty!!

Catherine's Fairy Tales confirms me in my belief that Catherine really ought to meet the Doctor one of these days.

Glad you enjoyed it! It was great, wasn't it? Catherine and the Doctor would certainly also be fun. :-)
