House of Eliott - First batch for icons100

Sep 29, 2010 20:53

I was trying to make icons for the 1990s BBC historical drama The House of Eliott and needed something to push me, so took up the icons100 challenge. The first batch is here. This is my first time for any sort of icons challenge, so encouragement & feedback would be nice.

(The House of Eliott was a BBC drama about two sisters who set up a fashion house ( Read more... )

*pokes the internet*

Less than half of them are showing up - which is annoying...

And oh BOY! What a nostalgia trip! I remember watching this - gods know why because I've zero interest in fashion!! o_O

No - I have to use the table, but I've only done 43 so far! This is only Batch 1. I'll fill in the gaps as I go - there'll be more presently. Stop poking the internet; it's not its fault, this once.

Ah, but you do like history - and this is full of 1920s and post WW1 stuff. And it is very pretty! And glad I could provide a moment or two of nostalgia. :-)

O_O Well the table's coming up with those irritating boxes with the red cross in them - so I assumed the pictures hadn't loaded!

True - but I wasn't interested in WW1 back when HoE aired...

These are great, I really love 69. Or 74, I can't work out if the numbers are above or below the icons. The one with Bea and Jack in focus and all the people rushing in the background.

Thanks! Yes, it's 69 - the numbers are at the top of the table. :-D

I am kind of happy that Bea/Jack icons now exist in the world. I'm not entirely sure why, but there...

Wow, you are getting really good at this stuff. Every time you post icons I am more impressed! I particularly like all the ones you (wisely) chose as teasers, and #54, lovely cropping. (Also I enjoy the fashions lol)

Aw, thank you! I am still a bit of lazy icon maker, which was why I took up this challenge to make sure I tried some different things. (It amuses me how many different ways there are to get the same or similar effects when messing about with images!)

There should be some more of the fashion, in the Artist's Choices ones anyway, but I wanted to get some Bea/Jack icons into the world first, because as far as I know there aren't any.

(They are a very nice ship, and go something like this:
JACK: Marry me, Bea!
BEA: Jack. I've got a business to run, I'm supposed to be having yet another artistic argument with Evie, we're designing a whole Collection and having financial difficulties. And I have issues with men, thanks to my father. Now, can we talk about this next year, or maybe the year after that?
JACK; *sigh* Bea, we're neither of us getting any younger. Can we at least have a date?
BEA: I can probably fit you some time next week around Lady Challoner's skiing outfit... Jack?!
)

Oh, you are a treasure! I've just unearthed my DVDs, after reading Jean Marsh's dreadful novelisation of her own series, so thought an icon was in order. And I found yours! Wonderful - lots of Bea and Jack, too, a pairing which is an old favourite of mine (not that Bea deserved him!) Simply deevy, darling! Borrowing number 40, and 'tedious and dull', because I love Jack.

Aw, glad you liked them! Thanks. Jack is always good fun & I've long had a soft spot for this old drama. :-)

And I must get on and finish this challenge also...

You are good! I can unfortunately also see only about half of the icons, the rest is hogged by little red crosses in little white boxes. But I'm a Jack/Bea fan so I love those the most :P
Incidentally, do you know if there is any House of Eliott fanfic out there?

Thank you! :-)

This was my first batch for icons100, so the little red boxes are actually little red boxes. The completed batch is HERE if you want, together with some alternates.

I have never yet come across anyone actually writing House of Eliott fic, sadly. I am thinking of nominating it for yuletide next year and seeing what happens!

However, I'm happy to put some Jack/Bea icons out there, because there really ought to be some... :-D
