Fic: Amelia and the Giant Gobstopper.

Remember my birthday crossover meme? Hopefully, I'll get through the rest of the lovely prompts everyone gave over the next week or so, but to start, written for john_elliott who wanted Wee!Amelia to meet Willy Wonka. This is a gorgeous prompt, to which nobody could probably do justice, but I had a stab at it.

The final line is perfect! Although the whole thing is quite marvellous medicine!

That's splendid. I think you've captured both of them brilliantly.

(I think there's a stray 'k' in had a pink stuck into him, btw.)

Thanks. Sorry to keep you waiting so long for a few words. :-)

And you're right, and it's fixed. A pink would not be nearly so startling as a pin, it has to be said.

This was scrumpdillycious! (I have no idea how to spell that word, but it seemed an appropriate usage in this context.) This was a really great prompt, and this met the challenge nicely.

Aw, thank you! And making up words is very appropriate for Roald Dahl. :-D

Very, very nice indeed. I always thought Mr Wonka might be a Time Lord, and this has done nothing to allay my suspicions... :D

Thanks! Yes, once you start writing a dw crossover it's a bit hard not to think that. Except it's also really hard, despite some of the renegades we've seen, to think up a Gallifreyan chapter that might have produced Willy Wonka.

I'd guess that the Wonka who left Gallifrey was a much more toned-down version. Perhaps he was a mere clerk, responsible for cataloguing alien foodstuffs. Then one day he was assigned to investigate reports of a race that ate ball bearings. Shortly after his arrival on Earth, he tasted chocolate for the first time (Time Lords, obviously, would frown on the idea of clerks eating the specimens they're cataloguing) and had an epiphany: confectionery is supposed to be fun!

Doubtless when he failed to return the Time Lords came looking for him and retrieved his TARDIS, but were unable to locate Wonka himself. And after a few decades, and perhaps a regeneration or two, he developed the persona described in the books.

Aww, this is so darling! I love how plucky and no-nonsense little Amelia is.
