After Mac had finished on the phone with Ray she fought the tears that were in her eyes. This couldn't get any worse, Mac couldn't feel any more hopeless. They were coming for him, they were going to take him. Everything seemed to slow down in her mind, no sound in her ears but the beating of her own heart and the blood rushing through them

Billy sat at the stop of the stairs holding Walter and Elliot. He could hear everything they were saying. He knew this couldn't last. Nothing he loved seemed to last but worse, he hated that Mac seemed so upset. He wasn't sure what to do so he simply hopped down the stairs, bears in tow, and looked up at them.

Billy nodded. He did know. "I love you too Mac. I'll never forget all the things we've done together and stuff."

"Me either," moving she scooped him up and into her arms, holding him to her tightly. "I don't want you to know, remember that."

Billy put his arms around her neck and hugged her tightly. "Now you've got Kayhan too. He'll stay with you, you don't have to be lonely even without me."

"It doesn't mean I don't want you here too sweet heart." It didn't mean that at all.

Holding him she walked towards the door, picking up his bag of things on the way. "We should find Kayhan."

"I know," Billy sniffled, holding onto Mac as she carried him. "I wish I didn't have to go."
