Checking in and hoping all of my old LJ friends are doing well! The 20th anniversary of this account is coming up. Though I had another account for a year (I think?) before creating this one. carveltc

I do miss this platform and I was thinking how I kind of would prefer it over most social media platforms these days.

I love the snapshots of peoples lives on instagram, but I feel like pretty much everything personal risks over-sharing. I do have a close friends filter but I can't really talk about my relationships or concerns. Also my instagram friends include a lot more family and former coworkers, who I like but maybe they don't want to hear about my personal life. :/ It needs a close-close friends filter.

I miss this platform too, especially how close and supportive some of the communities were.

I really miss communities like A day in my life or customers suck - there's just not much out there like that and it seems like everyone wants to prove that you're lying or that you've done something wrong.

Like the lovely memoryofpetals, I feel that it's hard to filter out things on other social media, so I just end up not posting at all. I just don't want people I don't like randomly finding my posts and knowing things about me, and I know how some of those things can be used against people, yuck.
