not playing the villain for once

the missus and i were big fans of Fallout 3, a merry romp through post-apocalyptic Washington DC. we enjoyed the open-world, the almost infinite replay value and the gameplay as a whole. we each did multiple playthroughs and loved the hell out of all of them. so it was only natural that we would be excited for Fallout: New VegasCarlye started her ( Read more... )

are you playing on PC or 360? wanna exchange usernames/gamertags?
I am playing as myself, which can be very very annoying. I can't not do the goody two shoes aspects of quests.

It is very hard for me to play as a villain.

I love the NCR, but honestly in fallout 3 I would have joined the Brotherhood of steel in a heartbeat.

i worked with the Brotherhood for a while in Fallout 3 but that was mostly out of necessity for story quests. i would have preferred to work with the Outcasts if they had given more than scavenger hunt quests

in New Vegas i have done more work with the NCR and they seem to have more resources and power at hand but i have only seen the Legion once so far and haven't even reached the Strip yet. Pullo's loyalty is still up for grabs

and my 360 gamertag is "castle121"

i had a lot of different experiences in Fallout 3 with different characters and my wife said she never had the same experience with any of hers. with New Vegas i am only a little ways in but i can already see how small changes can make a big difference.

there is no Karma system in this one, only reputation. you might make the people of Goodsprings very happy and they will love you there, but you might piss off the Powder Gangers in so doing. people who are friends with the Powder Gangers will then be less receptive to you later. reputation seems like it's going to open or close a lot of doors as the game goes on
