Agreed! J/E is my OTP, but in canon, I think it's pretty unfair to Will and Elizabeth as well. After all they went through to be together, that's what they got?

"It made no sense. Was he dead? Undead? Did that mean she actually was widowed?"

Agreed, again! What exactly did that mean for Elizabeth? A question that was never answered by the writers and always bothered me. Especially after learning that an omitted line from the actual script was Will telling Elizabeth "I don't expect the world to stop spinning" or something like that. Let the young woman live and love!

I look forward to following this story. After DMC, so many fic writers came out with lovely versions of what they thought would happen in AWE! This seems to be along the same vein, except in anticipation for the next PoTC installation. I can't wait to read more!

First of all, thank you for the kind words. I do appreciate it!

J/E has been my OTP from the start, but over the years I've become very attached to the idea of W/E...especially in canon context. So, whenever I do write J/E, I do have a sensitivity towards Will and the relationship he had with Elizabeth.

I had no idea about that omitted line, fascinating! I wish they'd have kept it. I think that would've worked with Will's overall noble character. Hmm.

This is exactly what I'm doing. After OST I decided that I wanted to know how Jack would come back into Elizabeth's life and how to make that work in a semi-canon context. I hope I can do that in a satisfactory manner in this fic.
