Doctor Who -- Ainley!Master and Delgado!Master -- Sarn Invictus (PG)icarus_chainedMay 19 2015, 21:27:19 UTC
It got a bit long (2323 words), so I posting a link if that's alright?
Sarn Invictus (on LJ or AO3) To escape immolation on Sarn (Planet of Fire), the Master casts himself temporarily back down his own timestream, and has a brief and enlightening conversation with his past self before it's safe to rejoin the present.

I reviewed this on AO3 (I'm Dancingsalome there), but I tell you that I love it here as well! I never imagined that my prompt could spark such a fantastic story!

Cutting in (bad habit of mine; sorry), because I had to.
I just read this, and am absolutely overjoyed; I recently used 'Invictus' for the inspiration for a Masterfic of my own! The coincidence totally thrills me. :D
And fantastically done! I was planning to try to fill this prompt, too...but I don't think anything I could come up with could touch this beauty! :D *applauds*

*grins* Invictus does just suit him, doesn't it? Well. Perhaps not the 'I have not winced nor cried aloud' line, the Master has always been perfectly happy to wince, cry, rage or beg if it will serve him to do so. But the rest of it, very much him I've always thought.
I'm glad you enjoyed, though I'm sure no-one would object if you still wanted to write your own take. I wouldn't, at least.
