Nonsense from a Pain-Soaked Mind

Headaches. When I get them I automatically think I'm hungry. Sometimes eating helps, sometimes not. When not, I know it must be sinuses. Like now. Boo. Not what I needed after such a crappy day. Meds plus Mt. Dew will hopefully help ( Read more... )

Neatness doesn't mean you have OCD. My mom has OCD, and while germs were one of her obsessions, and her compulsive behaviors were to clean, it's just one way OCD manifests. My coworker said she had traits of OCD because she liked cleanliness until she read a book about OCD and realized she just likes to be clean.

I think people who drive like idiots aren't thinking at all. They're distracted. I have experienced that myself. :-o

I haven't seen Wall-E. I love technology. But I still pay attention to the world around me.

I agree that neatness doesn't always mean you have OCD. Like me, I know I actually don't have OCD. At least not yet, lol. I got the impression my dad was actually diagnosed with it. His behavior is just weird sometimes. He doesn't like to have people over to his house because they "mess things up". Like I said, he has a lady come clean his already clean house once a week, and she changes his sheets EVERY SINGLE DAY. When we were cooking Thanksgiving dinner he kept freaking out every time he came in the kitchen and we kept having to tell him we'd clean it all up. Then last time we were at the lake he threw a fit when my sister and I got a little bit of mud on the boat carpet. :P These are all things he didn't use to do, either. So it's strange for us to have to deal with it now. Of course I still have no idea if he really cares about germs, or if he just really really hates to see anything out of place or the least bit dirty ( ... )

Yeah, your dad does sound like he has some OCD. As long as it doesn't interfere with your life, it's fine. Like if your dad can afford someone to clean his house, great. I wish I could do that, but that's just because I don't like to clean, haha. My mom didn't get help for her OCD until she had a breakdown.

I would lose my mind without the internet and phone, haha. But Henry David Thoreau was writing about people simplify-ing in 1854, before modern technology!
