When I was your age a recession hit too (late 80s early 90s) and I remember going from being told to plan a career to basically feeling like I might stay in my minimum wage job at Robinson's May forever. It's strange... others overcame the fear and just kept going, but I myself realize that I tended to cling to jobs with a fear of losing them, and frequently have put up with a lot of crap.

I took a job at my company because I thought it would buy me time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life... 15 years and several job permutations later... I'm still here... and wondering why I stayed.

The only advice I can offer is to keep yourself or work to keep yourself as debt free as possible... because in my case, one of my excuses was always "but I have debt". The other piece is to know it will work out, though not always how you'd envisioned.

I'm glad you found your Stephan though, having a good and the right partner by your side can make a huge difference in everthing. :)

You're so right. I really do see how keeping myself out of debt is important. Luckily, I have parents who make sure that I can keep my head above water. I am SO incredibly grateful to them for that. I guess that's one reason I have decided to hold off on my teaching certificate, though. I really don't need more student loans right now.

Thank you for your encouraging words. You're the best!! :) <>
