joy and sadness

I had just arrived on the east coast for my sister's wedding, when I got a call from my husband that his mother had died in Spain.  It was not unexpected--she had been just clinging to life for the past year and could barely get out of bed or talk anymore.  But of course, tears streamed down my face for my mother-in-law who couldn't have been ( Read more... )

What beautiful pictures. Sorry about the sadness, and hurray for the opening of hearts. So glad you got to be there to witness, and help bring about, I'm sure, the latter.

Jeannine, thank you for your kind words. It was such a special time, and I'm so glad I could be part of it. I think the whole experience gave me a deeper understanding of what family truly means.
