Well, I haven't been very good about keeping in touch here.  But in a way it feels like meeting up with good friends--even when you haven't seen each other for a while, it feels like no time has passed.  And it hasn't...but that's another whole subject altogether ( Read more... )

Have a wonderful trip, Lorraine. I hope Son is ALL better and can join in the fun.

I got teary about you missing Daughter. I'm quite sure she's teary about missing you, too.

Writing IS like compost. Unfortunately, mine often smells like the compost bucket in my kitchen, when it's still just scraps and bits of this and that. But I try to remember how rich and nourishing it can be after the magical transformation.

And don't forget--it needs to go through the smelly part to make that transformation! ;)

The Jersey Shore? As in NEW Jersey? You're coming all the way from the Pacific NW to the Jersey Shore?? Inconcievable!

Maybe because I grew up in NJ, and never lived far from it that it seems an unusual spot to chose for vacay, but...ha! I find it funny.

I love your analogy. It's going on my writerly wall of wisdom. Thanks! And have fun down the shore!

Yeah, I'm a Joisey gal myself. That's why the family meets up there every summer. We've been going to LBI for years--my dad still has a place there. And hey, it's warm and you can swim at the beach. No way would I do that here on the Pacific side of things, gorgeous though it is.

Ah! A Jersey-girl! Once a Jersey-girl, always a Jersey-girl. :)

Have fun!

Thanks, Robin. He ate several pieces of french toast this evening, so that's progress!

Thanks, Dot. We've told him he needs to start walking farther than the bathroom if he wants to get on that plane! :)
