As soon as I saw your post I was like, "Oh, April Fools, right?"

And then I read and was actually amused. Mostly because I'm amused by how Facebook keeps trying to be Twitter and I just read an article yesterday about how YouTube might be huluified, and I'm amused by the number of online services that see something else and go, "Ooh, I want to be that" instead of being what they are.

I think my disconnect was that I saw it wile my brain was still on Tuesday and the date stamp on the post was 31st (I do actually notice these things!). Once it pinged, I was highly amused, especially as I had been waiting to see what LJ did. *g*

Yes. This. Sites need to realise that people will like them better if they do their own thing rather than try to be the same as everyone else. *headdsk*
