I'm very glad -- I think confused is right where I want you at this point. :) Oh, and thanks so much for listing this in your daily fic posts, too. I don't imagine there are many people as brave as you, though, who'd want to come read in a new, obscure fandom.
One of my favorite things about writing is getting inside someone's head and trying to think like they would. I'm so glad you noticed that bit! Thank you.
I knew as soon as Dakin seemed surprised at seeing Laurie walk him to the door that it was because he hadn't known about Laurie's knee. (Love being right!)
Why do I get the feeling that Ralph has had more dealings with the nurse than Laurie knows? Maybe it's just the whole uber-tense atmosphere during Ralph's interrogation.
I'm very glad that Laurie got a chance to tell Ralph about the murder before Dakin cornered Ralph. I don't think his palpable relief, "Oh, just a murder, is that all? I thought the cops knew I'm buggering my housemate," would go over too well.
Well, this is a surprise! I wouldn't have thought of the nurse being the one - although she is the unknown quantity.
You do the suspense of the authority looming very well. *shudders*
I'm interested in the idea of Ralph using a typewriter - I assume he types one-handed? (I'm hoping that the way the nurse was murdered would make it impossible for Ralph to do it with one maimed hand...)
Ralph still has his index finger on the left hand, so I'm thinking he's doing the two-handed, two-fingered hunt-and- peck method. And, being Ralph, that he'll work at it until he's pretty efficient. :)
Didn't you just recently say something about me tormenting Ralph all the time? Getting to be like a broken record around here... Not that it isn't true. :)
I'm sorry...I'm just such a girl where suspense stories are concerned...honestly - I always have to read the last few pages of a novel first to keep from worrying the whole time, and I always enjoy films better the second time through...and nothing at all with children or dogs, because they *always* end up getting hurt some way...
You don't have to "shut up," love. I'm just as bad about movies with animals -- Rich stopped taking me to such things after I cried from a friend just describing the movie to me...
I'm kind of a happy ending slut myself. I know I've written death stories, but I actually hate reading them.

And, re Dakin - ah ha! I'm so glad he was more transparent to you than he is to Laurie. :)
