But to do that I will have to replace the leadscrews in the mill.
Actually the ones the mill comes with are shit... there is at least 3 thou of runout in the leadscrew.. and about 6 thou of backlash. Both would be nice to get down to less than 1 thousandth.
To CNC-ize will probably cost me about 800 bucks... at a guess.
Way to go! But let's face it... you didn't REALLY do it because you needed to mill a cabinet. You did it because it's cool - especially that you did it yourself like that. That's really cool!
Actually... i did it because I need to mill a cabinet :/
At least, thats what got me to do it NOW. AND I STILL SCREWED IT UP!!!!!
*sigh*... anyway... i have a deadline to meet, and at least I have one more front panel plate for the other system that has a later delivery date. One more chance to get it right........
Yea... my mate, Aerofox, is bigtime into collecting antique radios. So yea :) It is one... of many.
Cool on meeting you. My memory is horrible, so I apologize that I cannot recall having met you at a convention or whilst in houston. But certainly I appriciate you saying hi! :)
Shockwave is a cool guy, I never really ever got to hang out with him nearly as much as I wanted to, but its always nice to talk with him.
Thanks :) You have your strengths as well and I admire you for those. You definately have more self asurance than I, not to mention your work in the world of poetry. Its all good, man.
Besides, if screwups like today dont cut me down to size, i dunno what would :/
But as I noted.. the DRO works perfectly... And now coupled with my superiorly screwed up brain, I can fabricate a PERFECTLY backwards panel!

That gave me a good laugh.
Speaking of poetry I just posted a new one, let me know if you like it. I plan to add audio to it still but AUDIOBLOGGER is being discontinued so though I did record this one it hasn't yet given me the HTML for the MP3 so I think they're about done. I'll have to find a new service.

Next effort will be to CNC-ize it at some point.

Is that a console radio in the back corner? :)
Btw, I found my way over here via shockwave77598's journal, though I believe I've run into you somewhere else years ago too.
