Traveling to the U.S.?

Meetings at the regional council this morning. Looks like they want to send me to Saint Louis and Atlanta in the spring. Both cities are sister-cities with the regional council, and I'm supposed to be a good speaker, impeccable representative, super woman, shiny activist, rising star local politician. Oh, but they don't know I'm a witch. (My resume ( Read more... )

Oooh! If you come will you be able to travel to other cities? Or would it be confined to those two?

It was mentioned that if the trip does happen, and I want to extend my visit beyond what we're going to do there, then it's okay, and the date of the return ticket can be flexible. I don't know much more about it, though. Don't even know when exactly in the spring they plan the trip, or for exactly how long. They said "about a week or so"... I suppose I'll know more in the next couple of days.

Well, just the fact that they want you to go is certainly a feather in your cap! And as for the witch part...certainly I can see why you would want to be discreet. And, one of the interesting things about the kinds of people who are inclined to come up with creative, innovative solutions to difficult problems is that they tend to be unconventional in their thinking and living, kind of goes with the territory. If you were purely conventional, you would be a purely conventional representative, and it sounds like that's not what they want.

When in the Spring? St. Louis is not far from Diana's Grove, and in May, I know Raven is planning to be at Feri Camp, and I'm looking into going as well. Just thinkin'...

And as an aside, if you ever find yourself able to make it up to our neck of the woods, we'd love to have you come visit.

Thank you! :)

I don't know much else about the trip. Don't know when exactly in the spring, don't know for how long, and not sure if Saint Louis comes first then Altlanta, or vice versa.

They did mention that I could extend my trip, if I wanted to, and that the date of the return ticket is flexible, which made me go hmmm. Yes, Feri Camp. Definitely. Hmmm!

I'm trying not to be too excited before I have more details, though, and before I know that I'm for sure going.

I lived in Atlanta for about fifteen years, and currently live about sixty miles away. It's a great place to visit in the spring. I could probably meet up with you as well :)

Waah! Why didn't they pick Austin, too? ;)

I second Atlanta as a great place for a spring visit, though. I've only been there in spring.

I really should start a process of becoming sister-cities with either Austin or San Fransisco, or preferably both. That would make life so intersting for me! ;)

That would be great :) I'm still unsure about timing, schedule, etc., but I'll let everybody know, and if it works out, I'd be absolutely delighted.
