And haven't we had so many instances of this in real life. Where all seems lost but suddenly there is a little ray of sunshine, a minute hope that rebalances the scales a little.
Exactly. It's easy to pretend that all of the adventures the Doctor takes Rose (and his other companions on) will be fun and exciting and even when dire turn out alright in the end. But the reality is that there will be many situations like this where tragedy cannot be prevented and I felt it was right that still there would be hope. Hope is what keeps people going in the darkest of circumstances and I think that's really what Rose needed in this story. Thanks for reading.
