Once again it was a trip to the cheapie theater. This movie endeavour was The Prestige. It is interesting how daring you get when the movie only runs you a $1.50. Frankly, even spending the 3$ for Jeanie is still worth taking the chance on a movie ( Read more... )

I also really enjoyed this movie. The book is worth reading--it's very, very different, but has some of the same elements.

I didn't realize it was David Bowie until Becca pointed it out in her LJ! It's amazing!

So when am I going to hang out with your para---I mean, with you? LOL. I seriously wish I had moneys and a car so I could meet up with you and teh Jeannie and anyone else somewhere. ;(

I suppose it had a happy ending, except for the murder and hanging part. Overall I thought that it ended as it should have. I mean not everyone got the happy ending.

and yeah I didn't notice it was David Bowie until the second time I saw it. That kinda weirded me out.

>>David Bowie looked old. It was just disturbing on how old he looked.

Well David has been around for quite sometime now and was very young when he became a pop singer and made other movies. You will have probably noticed that his make up was very harsh to emphasize the character and that would also make him look older.

Yes I loved every moment of the film sitting on the edge of my seat - of course. I thought particularly Hugh Jackman's performance was perfect he works so astutely on his character and his pairing with Christine Bale was excellent. The only thing that would not really let me get as near as I should have to Bale's character was that I did not think he quite pulled off the 'cockney accent'. In my younger days I loved amateur theatre and played in musicals and plays and most of the time I got the parts with the accents [which usually meant good character parts] I used to be very good at them at the time ( ... )
