Well this is nifty

Apparently I've just discovered myself a natural at deep levels of logic that out class Bill Gates by an order of magnitude and I am in fact a Potentate of the Rose within the mystic order of the Fraternity of Petals Around the Rose ( Read more... )

My first and second guesses were wrong. However I noticed the answers I got.

It's pretty simple once you make the connection, yes.

I think I've played too many dice games, however - it was too easy.

STW: Sorry for the oversight, I've added you back onto the list. I got a little purge happy on Pgh folk.

No worries - things can get out of hand around here (says the person with several hundred journals on her watch list ;)

I haven't gone to look, but I am amused by the posting. Back in 1975 this puzzle was going around at GTE engineering all over the world. Frustratingly, all the wives (in those days, mostly stay-at-home) solved it as you did -- pretty much at first glance, while the engineers struggled.

Of course, I guess I've got engineering blood. I never did solve it. (one of the reasons I haven't gone to look.)

Oh, that was in reference to the new person. Had never seen his id before, so I was looking at mutual friends to try to figure out who he might have discovered this journal through.

No worries :)

BTW: Did you get the documents I sent?

-laugh- Yeah, I love my musicals.

As for Petals Around the Rose, it's rather simple: (a) - b = c

I'll be the first to admit, it had me stumped for a while. I tried to apply too much logic to something that was quite simple.

Oh and feel free to blame Anubis.
