And you thought the Chinese were prudish about sex.

Apparently one of the major topics that the Chinese media is writing about with regard to the film "Lust, Caution" is the fact that young people who have seen the film are rushing off to try the sexual positions in the film, and run the risk of hurting themselves.

This country needs a dose of sex ed, and maybe some good porn, stat!

I didn't think the Chinese were prudish about sex, but maybe that's because of the amount of time I spent listening to cynara-linnaea talk about the medieval Chinese pornography she had to read for her thesis.

Oh, the medieval Chinese weren't prudish at all. I had to read an amazing piece of early-Qing pornography for one of my classes (and I'd love to read that thesis - who is that person, by the way?). But the PRC has discouraged it, for some reason...

cynara-linnaea is a friend of mine from Penn; I think the topic of the thesis was something along the lines of "images of male beauty" in some time period of China.

Well, what are you doing here? Go! Educate these people and produce pornography for them! Clearly, this is your divine mission.
