Golden Week recap, Part 1

As I've mentioned, last Monday was National Celebration Day (国庆节 Guo Qing Jie) here, meaning that pretty much everything closed for the week and everyone in China tried to visit somewhere else in China. Here's how I spent my Golden Week (黄金周), up through where I left for Inner Mongolia. I'll write that later, because food.

I think I paid 80 RMB for my "North Face" backpack-with-wheels, but it has since fallen apart (probably in part from the vast quantities of glass rod I filled it with before we got a locker at the glass studio).

The lack of fireworks on National Day confused us too. Everyone was out in the streets ... why?
