We saw AC/DC for free. It was exactly what one would expect, except the opening band managed to make a Son House song boring.

We saw The Sweet for free too. Far superior.

Also, if you don't use LJ anymore, ignore this post.

I'm lucky I happened to check LJ today. I usually don't. Anyway, that sounds very cool. Did people rock out? Was it better or worse than that Alice Cooper concert with all the drunk people? Who are Son House? And who are The Sweet? I am uninformed.

I would say 50-60% of the crowd rocked out. There was the guy in the front row who jumped up and down for the whole show, but then there were the four hipsters who texted and looked bored during everything but "Highway to Hell" (and then only nodded slightly and mouthed the words while looking bored).

All the Alice shows were great, regardless of who was around. He really does know how to entertain an audience. This wasn't in the same league, but it was mostly fun.

Son House are an old delta bluesman from the the early half of the 20th century. He's my favorite blue musician, and it was funny to hear a really standardized 4/4 rock version of "Preachin' Blues." Funny, and after thirty seconds, boring.

The Sweet were/are a seventies band. They did "Ballroom Blitz" and "Little Willy." I didn't know much about them other than that, but they were actually pretty good musician, so there was a nice marriage of jamming music and cheesy theatrics.
