We did the celebration thing over the weekend though, and I got a new Ipod touch, because my old Classic was dying, and a new graphics card for my desktop, so I can play silly games that I can't play on my Mac. So yay. My dad has to take my desktop to techie types to put the vid card in, ( Read more... )

I adore the Big Bang Theory for the dorky comics physic jokes, and the fact that it's still fresh in season four while last season got a bit stale on HIMYM.

Also. Howard does get a massive telling off for his behavior. I just can't remember which episode it is. But I'm SO glad you liked them.

ANd yes. about laugh tracks omg. I got so used to my fav. sitcomes being stuff like The office (back when it was good) Extras and Aressted Development that the appearance of a laugh track to bugs.

Yeah, I'm only on season one, so it hasn't had time to get to the staleness. So far the dorky fandom type jokes are my favorite part, and Howard is my least favorite.

I KNOW. Why do they even have them anymore? IT DOESN'T MAKE ANYTHING FUNNIER.

There's this habit on sitcoms where you have these wonderful characters to start and then a few seasons later they become charicatures of themselves. It happened on HIMYM. Although this season they seem to have noticed and are fixing it.

Howard's my least favorite too. Although I love it later when Katee Sackoff and George Takei show up in his subconscious.

I know. Watching reruns of Cheers I expect a laugh track, but I loathe them.

Yeah, I think that's part of why I so rarely get into sitcoms. The last one was Arrested Development, which. . . they started OUT as caricatures, so it worked? lol

It's like they're a holdover from the "filmed in front of a live studio audience" days, which no sitcom does anymore, that I know of, so why are we still hanging on to the idea that people need to be prompted to laugh? Blech. Grow up, Teevee.

Lol, am I? I guess that depends on how old you are. I'm older than most of the people I know online.
