How do you have no comments on this?! Because I have so many thoughts and feelings on my new headcanon, and the next few lines will probably be word vomit (and I don't care).

1) Brutus. Brutus Mountains-and-Earth, All-Victors-Are-My-Family, Brutus. Brutus who is large and terrifying and could probably squish a watermelon with his bare hands, but is so gentle in dealing with the younger (and sold) Victors' trauma. I am so unbearably fond of your Brutus.

2) I'm from the US (East Coast liberal elite transplant, originally from the Midwest), so humor me here. But when Emory gave Lyme her rather stinging critique, I was flabbergasted because there are so so many parallels between what I see Lyme thinking and sometimes, yes I'll admit it, what I find myself thinking, that this actually floored me. I mean, I've read any number of thinkpieces online about the most recent election, but damn. These four sentences made me think and think hard. Well done.

3) DID LYME MEET BRUTUS' PARENTS? DID SHE MEET HEIDI AND MARC?!

Man, I just read this chapter and the one before and I am impressed by how good this story continues to be. I waited for this for a long time, and you didn't let me down. I'll do my best to come by with more detailed commentary later, because there are a lot of issues to be explored. I will say the parallels between Two and America are interesting, but I also think there are some complicating factors that make things very different as well.

Eibhlin really gutted me. I hope she doesn't remember any of that. It explains why Brutus is so protective of her. She's one of my favorites.

Phillips was awful too. That definitely came specifically from Snow through the scouts, it's exactly his style.

Ohhh my goodness. Eibhlin. And Enobaria. And fucking Brutus, man, just getting the fuck in there and trying to help. I had to read that section twice because I was racing through the first time, anxious they weren't going to gwt everybody, or they were going to get caught. It was a full on chapter, but it was wonderful.

I'm not totally sold on the second rebellion thing yet (as in a second organised rebellion as opposed to a group of scouts gone rogue) but I can see how you're using it to get the pieces and people into place, and I like that everyone is not dead. Yet.

You know, it literally never occurred to me to have the Scouts just ........... go rogue, and the entire resistance go from there. NOW I'M KIND OF LIKE, WELL DARN.

Haha no in all seriousness, I had a second resistance for a few reasons, one because like ....... for plot reasons I needed more manpower, and also (as
