A S.F. Holiday Tradition?

Last night clever_dobermanand I went to the Missions District in SF to see a comedy show. As we were looking for parking, we noticed a guy in a Santa suit coming out of a liquor store. Then we noticed another one walking down the sidewalk. When we looked to our left, there were 3 more Santa’s waiting to cross the street. Every few blocks we'd see another gaggle

The BART on the way home was full of young inebriated people (not disturbingly so), many of them in Santa hats or Santa suits or reindeer antler hats. One fellow was dressed as Jesus.

yes, people were inebriated, but they were joyful, silly, and quite decorative. good that they were riding BART rather than driving.
