Notes: I wanted to do my take on the idea of a formal betrothal between Mai and Zuko as kids. Somehow, I wound up with a comedic satire of Fire Nation culture as seen through the eyes of Mai and Ursa. Weird, right?

Oh my gosh, that's so hilarious. And yet very poignant too. I can't get over the dowry of the comic books though. That's just funny.

I admit, I let the dowry subplot run away with some of the story. Mai's betrothal to Azula wouldn't have happened if I hadn't written the Royal Men's reaction to "Lady Rei!" as being so enthusiastic. XD
