Well, nobody is coming to see it. It's a bit cheesy, (not that it's supposed to be deep or anything!) and at 2 hours and 20 minutes, it's too long. You mentioned being a fan, though? In that case, it probably is worth it. Original fans seem to have fun. The races are exciting, and overall it's colorful and visually distracting.
I didn't watch the intro you posted, having already seen the film, but that song was great! I love that kind of thing.
