What do you think of this latest Robin Hood tax video?

I don't think it's as effective as this other one, below. I feel like it's too alarming, and focuses too much on STEALING from the rich. And it bugs me that the mugger is a black guy. Am I just a fragile flower?

The first one uses the setting of a crime to promote something they are finally positing as a good. It is attention grabbing, but really it undermines the whole point they're trying to make by implying that the poor are somehow stealing this tax from the rich.

The second one is less flashy but more effective, I think. Plus less triggery with that whole young black man as threat imagery.

I know, right?

I love the whole concept of this tax (my government's bullshit reluctance to endorse it has nothing to do with me!) but I've been saying for weeks that Robin Hood just doesn't have the same currency here as it does in Great Britain. North Americans just are not in favour of stealing--especially not from the rich, ironically. I really think it sends the wrong message completely to imply that it's theft at all.

I know I'm a humourless curmudgeon, but I think the mugging ad really drives my point home.
