One of my best. Friend, comrade, one of the people I'd be most happy trusting my back to. She's a great woman, and Luceti's the poorer for not having her with us anymore.

Better off, certainly. But she wouldn't have wanted to leave before everyone else had found a way home. If she'd been given the choice I have no doubt she would have stayed.

Still, for her own sake I'm glad she's back home.

Sure I am... and the reason why is probably going to be a confusing explanation. [He's starting to get the idea that somehow everyone is a character in someone else's world. AND because he really doesn't dare presume, but damn it he has to know for sure...]

Actually, that might not be the case. [He sets up the filter.] Let me guess... we're fictional characters where you come from, part of a long-running series of comic books?

[ It's rare to see Wally walking down the street instead of running on full speed, but here he is. His steps are unsteady and a bit sluggish for his usual pace, and his hand is awkwardly scratching on the back of his head. It's like he's trying to dig up a thought or two that isn't depressing.

He steps onto the porch and, without turning toward Clark just yet, lets out a tired sigh. ]

Sucks, doesn't it.

[Clark notices him coming up, of course, and he just sits there and waits for Wally to come over to him. He nods and gives a little sigh when he actually speaks up.]

Yeah, I think you could say that.

Mmph...

[ The sound is somewhere between agreement and frustration. There is something else Wally wants to say, but those words are firmly caught between his sense of what is right and his desire to be selfish for a bit.

He settles on stumbling closer and leaning back on the nearby wall. ]

You know.... it shouldn't be so hard to feel good about her going back home.

She wouldn't have wanted to leave. Not while so many people are still trapped here.

[That much Supes is sure of, though it makes her having been sent home have an even more bitter taste.]
