This is an excellent poem, but the editor side of me cringed when I read 'laid'. It should be 'lie'. The way I always remember which word to use is 'eggs are laid, people lie or lay'.

Sorry, can't help myself, editing's in the blood. In my case my blood is 70% coffee and 30% ink. *grin*
