i've spent the whole morning reading about Livonia, the Crusades, 19th century resurrectionists, the Bloody Benders, and 101 accounts of the loup-garou.

Nothing like having the feel of something potentially original at your fingertips, no? :) The reason I haven't put any real effort into my urban fantasy/werewolf thing is that it is too prevalent, and I don't think that I can bring anything new to the field (vs the novel). I wish you all the best!

it's tough chasing after that elusive bit of freshness given the breadth of what's out there. i'm finding sources that are chipping away here and there at my initial idea, but the core still seems pretty solid if i can hold onto it. thanks for the well-wishes!

Course, I only know of the Wendigo legend thanks to Marvel Comics.

funny, i think my first encounter with the legend was also from Marvel, now that i think of it.
