He manages to offer Green Crusader--fucking Green Crusader--a hand up.
"Thanks," says Green Crusader. He's smaller than Jared, which isn't exactly surprising, but he's still used to this guy being his idol, the one who made him want to be a hero. "Appreciate the help." There's enough of an edge to it that Jared knows he was a little wrong.
"I know it's not cool to interrupt someone's job like that, I was just following them and didn't know you were there, and--"
Green Crusader laughs and pats Jared's chest. Jared feels like swooning a little. "Hey, don't worry about it. Just been a while since I needed any."
Jared ducks his head so Green Crusader won't see his grin. He should have gotten a mask that covered his mouth.
"New in town, right?" asks Green Crusader. "I think I've seen you in crime reports from San Antonio."
