I'm so glad I stumbled upon this fic, I'm a sucker for fics that talk about Lucifer and the consequences of Sam's time in hell, and this was sad and creepy and incredibly well written.
The most terrifiying thing is that I can totally see this happening, because eventhough in canon Sam could fight Lucifer, we know it was only for a moment, and that in the long haul Lucifer will always take over. The way Sam's slowly but surely losing himself and the way Dean tries to cling to hope but falls more and more into desperation and pain were absolutely heartbreaking.
The last scene is cruel and unfair, but perfect and fitting at the same time. Because there's no best way to get rid of Sam than getting rid of Dean first. Poor boys...
Now if you excuse me, I'll be crying and rocking in the corner.
