Start walking. For the first week, just go ten minutes, and then keep increasing it until you get up to 30 - 40 minutes or so a day. Walking takes the 'fat' off, makes you feel refreshed after the first couple weeks, and also drink plenty of water. If you are drinking soda, that adds weight.

You don't need to go to a gym, just walk. It works! But you also have to watch what you eat, too. If you could find a friend to walk with you, time goes by faster if you talk. And talking is good while walking cuz you use more lung power.

DALE.

I hate walking just for the hell of it. If there was somewhere to just wander around for hours (I love doing that in Clearwater) than I'm all over it. But north Tampa all there is to see is college stuff. Fast food places, pawn shops, and slummy apartment complexes.

I drink 3L+ of water a day. Been doing that for years.

Walking only takes care of the lower body, too. I'm finding my upper-body strength atrophying severely as well. I used to be able to lift a 225lb piece of furniture when I only weighed 190 myself. I can't even come close to that sort of power anymore, and I miss it. Moving (my own) furniture was a lot easier then.

My eating habits have actually improved since the days that I was a "thin" 190 pounds and had immense strength... it's entirely due to the fact that I used to get a full-body workout in the Target days.

One of the downsides of walking is that while it's a good workout, it can be very time-consuming. Doing 25 push-ups is a lot easier to squeeze into a day that I'm already spending 10 hours at work.
