Bah!

You never stroke the steering wheel lovingly? You don't have a coronary when a gear slips?

That's so not true.

I fucking dare you to trash-talk to your car and see how long it takes to break down on you.

I don't understand people's insistence that their vehicles have no gender identity.

Am I the only one who draws an analogy of cars to spacecraft, as in say... Firefly?

Turn in that geek card. :P

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Love. You can know all the math in the 'Verse, but take a boat in the air you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells ya she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her home.

Mine is a truck. Sometimes I call it names, sometimes nice, sometimes not so nice.

Mine is a girl. For sure. Her name is Elizabeth, and that's what she's to be called, except by me. I'm allowed to call her Lizzy.

*shrugs* All my cars have been girls - very sensitive and often bitchy.
You can totally feel it.

And yes, I caress the steering, pat the dashboard, and talk nicely to her.

All mechanical things in inherently female for those reasons. Jess has never been bitchy, but she is temperamental and cranky. She hates the cold as much as I do.

It amazes me that there are people that don't do that.
