Oooh, this is intriguing with how you have the finale set up, especially considering how "Hide" plays out with its themes of love and being separated by time/space - all of which play heavily into River's story and the Doctor/River relationship (and also to Doctor/Rose as some of its fans have pointed out, but considering this is Moffat-era Who, the focus is and rightfully should be on the Doctor's curiously absent marriage whereas there was a few soundbites sprinkled through series 7a - "that's nice, but I'm married" and Jex figuring out Amy's a mother - that do loop back to River's story.
Edit: And, as a friend just reminded me, Hide also has an interesting line of the music room being the heart of the house. So, that can definitely be added to your song/melody references.
I totally agree, hopefully it's all leading toward sthe River/11 stuff- i miss her so much and it does feel wrong that's she's not been more of a presence in this series. It took me until this ep to get it, but i do now think the idea of the power of Song as a force that can stop wars and death is leading towards River being the one who saves everything.
I;m so happy she is going to be in the finale - however i fear that it will be the last time we see her and i am utterly terrified that Moff will unwrite her timeline with the Doctor ~bites nails~
There were several references to missing wives in and around the Christmas episode (there's a man with an invisible wife . . . maybe he just doesn't have a wife. I see from your collar that you have an apple tree and a wife with a limp! Bit of a tree? Bit of a wife?)
I rather wonder if we're not supposed to be wondering where River is. She does feel conspicuous in her absence, especially with so many references to songs and forests and the Library flying around.
Thank you darling, so glad you enjoyed ~twirls you~
Yeah, the notion of his role as the God who has been sleeping, and who will be awakened by the sound of his name is an interesting one. To hold the name of a God is to have power over them. When he awakens..the shit will hit the fan, lol!
River will be the one that saves them. At least, it seems that way, with the saving power of song being a theme.
