La la la.

Okay, after a tearful couple of days (I do not handle change well) I think we are settled in. We have unpacked our clothes and some of our books and made a MASSIVE shopping expedition and filled all the cabinets and the top of the refrigerator to capacity. Highlights of the shopping trip:( Food! )

Ooh, I heard about that show and it looked interesting but I didn't get a chance to watch it before it got cancelled. *queues at position 155*

You...never finished watching Labyrinth?

No words for how much my mind is reeling. None.

I was in a post-exam haze! I was thirteen and crazy! Nobody ever wants to rent it with me! The longer I went without finishing it the hazier it grew and the sillier I felt! I'm working on it, okay??

Also, now I've built it up so much in my mind that I'm still kind of afraid to watch it in case it isn't as good as I remember.

What’s so fucking hard about chopping garlic?

curry recipe for savannah

6 tbsp crushed coriander seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp crushed peppercorns
1 tsp chilli
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
2 tsp crushed garlic (thus utilising garlic crusher)
2 tsp ginger
3 tbsp vinegar

... that makes your curry sauce. then chop an onion and fry it in oil, add the spices and cook for a minute or two, add your veggies (we use aubergines/cauliflower/carrots when we’re too poor to buy meat), stick in half a tin of tomato paste and about 2/3 pint of stock and cook for about half an hour.

I guess you’d probably have to buy all those spices though, which is expensive. But then you can make curry every day for practically no money at all! and feel British!

Ooh, and I just bought some plastic measuring spoons, too, so if I can find all those esoteric spices in the Jacksonville grocery store I'm set! Is that chili powder, or chopped actual chilis, or what? And powdered ginger or fresh pressed/chopped ginger root? How big is your tin of tomato paste?
