First, I went to the beautiful, nearly untouched island of Dominica for Natalie's wedding. The ceremony was on a riverbank in the rainforest. I'm serious:
RJ, the groom, was in the Peace Corps there for two years. And then he brought Natalie back to see the island and meet all his friends there, and that's where he proposed.
So, it has a lot of personal meaning to them. Definitely NOT a "let's find an island resort and have a tropical wedding!" thing.
(And because most of the tropical places I've been have, by definition, been the more touristy ones, this was INCREDIBLE.)
Yeah, I got the impression that they'd done work there or something. The pictures felt a little too earnest! I'm glad they could do that. I love non-traditional wedding get-togethers.
