[RL, Destiny Islands, locked to Naminé and Repliku (Aphrodite can come too)]

Naminé waited on the beach, scribbling with a stick in the sand. Hypothetical lack of feelings be damned- she was nervous, and excited, and seriously considering running back to get Kairi for some moral support.

So... This is it, Repliku thought. At the back of his mind, he knew it was stupid. The very idea of going to Destiny Islands was stupid.

But if felt... right. Somehow.

Afraid? Perhaps but not of Riku but of how it was gonna go. What was he gonna say? How will he act when he sees her again? Where is he gonna take her to?

Funny that the first thing Repliku noticed when he arrived at the beach on his gummiship made of scrap was her. Maybe the feeling of "longing" was not "to see the beach" but in actuality "to see her".

"Well, I guess it's better than living in the dark. And I like the wind here,"

Repliku climbed the tree and took one fruit.

"I've always sort of wondered what paopu tastes like," Naminé mused.

"Same here,"

Repliku would've offered that they share a fruit if only it wouldn't make the situation even more awkward than it already is...

... WELL AWKWARDNESS BE DAMNED.

"Wanna share?" he asked as he held out the paopu he just took.

"Ah-!" Naminé, blushing furiously, looked away again. "Y-you mean it?" He knew the legend the islanders had about the paopu, right? She'd put that in his memories somewhere, she was sure of it.

Repliku didn't know what to make of Namine's reaction.

"... well, yeah. But we don't have to if you don't want,"

He sighed and looked at the fruit on his hand. What does it taste like anyway? Repliku knew that if he was going to try one, he wanted to try it with someone special (may the legend be true or not). And there was only one person he considered special.

That person was standing in front of him now.

"I never said I don't want to!" Naminé said quickly. "Just, uh. You. Know the legend, right?"
She hoped he did. Because, if he did, and he was offering anyway- that meant something, right?
"Uh... I mean..." Naminé forced herself to make eye contact. "Y-yes...?"

Eye contact. Now that's saying something.

"I know of the legend," Repliku said. "But I don't think it matters whether it's true or not." And as an afterthought, he added more to himself than to Namine, "Here's hoping that it's true."

He broke the fruit into two and handed the other half to Namine.

"You're right... it means something to us anyway. Here's hoping," Naminé said softly.

She hesitated, not sure if she should go first.

Repliku, not noticing Namine's hesitation, took a bite.

"It tastes good," he said. "I really should take some for Kurt.... which reminds me, he let me take the pastries he served when I visited. He said he can't eat them all anyway. It's in the ship. You and the others should try-"

He stopped almost abruptly. He realized he was already talking too much.

"Um. Yeah. I should get those for you," he said quietly, starting to walk back to the ship.

Naminé nibbled off a corner of her half. She held it on her tongue for a few moments, letting the flavor soak in- sweet and slightly sour. "It is good- Hey, where are you going?"

Still clutching the paopu half, she hurried after him. "I-is something wrong? Was it something I said?"

He stopped to let Namine catch up. "N-no, nothing's wrong! I was just going to get the pastries Kurt made.... You should try it. And share it with the others. They're really good."

He unconciously took Namine by the hand and slowly walked back to the ship with her.

"Okay." Naminé smiled at him. She unconsciously squeezed his hand as she continued to munch on the paopu.

A squeeze. Repliku glanced at his hand holding Namine's. He blushed- lightly but enough to be noticed. It was an odd feeling.

He let go of Namine's hand only when they reached the ship. He went in and emerged from it with a handful of pastries.

"Uh... here they are...,"

Naminé blushed too (well, she can likely be assumed to have been blushing for most of this scene, but Repliku set her off again).

"Thanks. Is there anything to put them in so I can take them home?"

"Uh- yeah... I think there's a small bucket thing... in the ship...,"

Repliku nervously rushed back to the ship and came out with a small plastic bucket full of Kurt's pastries.

"They're... really good... so share them with the others... and tell them they were from Kurt... not me,"
