i thought i had responded to this last night! but as usual, i fell asleep with my laptop on me so i might not have hit "submit" :P
i was going to say that i used to love the cranberries wayyyyyyy back when zombie was released. dolores o'riordan has one of the most interesting voices ever [and i'm not a fan of most female vocalists, but her voice is gorgeous]. while zombie is a very interesting song, i think "when you're gone" or "ode to family" or even "linger" might be better to show off your vocal skills and range? just my opinion :)
i haven't listened to any ani difranco songs so can't tell you which one i would like to hear from a soloist! good luck with everything :D
You might be right... it's just that Zombie says so much that I love it. These aren't really the only things I'm considering, though. Alanis Morissette climbs ever steadily to the top of the list, specifically Jagged Little Pill. I absolutely love "Not The Doctor." I don't know if it would be the best option musically. It's just a song I really really like.
