It had taken her a long time to make it to the dorms. Ursula knew Milanor had to be impatient by now, but she didn't want Nessiah tripping and hurting himself; his motor skills were still rusty after how long he'd slept, and despite the physical therapy he was still weak. The drugs likely weren't helping, either.

With her hand on his shoulder, Ursula rapped on Milanor's door.

Work up as he was, Milanor nearly hit the ceiling when someone knocked, but quickly darted over and threw open the door, breathing a sigh of relief when it turned out to be Ursula and Nessiah.

"Come in," he said, stepping aside and resisting the urge to do anything sudden around Nessiah.

Still carefully guiding Nessiah, Ursula entered the dorm room.

"I've told you several times exactly what this is entailing, but I'll have to remind you again," she said quietly, patiently. "Make sure he gets down to the infirmary for his medications on time. Make absolutely sure. Eventually, if you think you can keep track, he'll be able to take them here. Make sure someone is with him at all times. Be patient. His reflexes and thought processes are very slow right now. Take care of him. I mean that last especially--take care of him; this is his, and your, last chance."

Hearing the words your last chance wanted to sting, but Milanor didn't let it. All he had to do was make good on that chance and the fact it was the last one would be meaningless.

"I understand," he said. "I know how important this is. I can do it."
