Dear Fellow Canucks,

Have any of you tried to watch shows on ctv.ca recently? If so, were you able to actually watch them? If you haven't tried, could you do me a favour and give an episode -- any episode, any show -- a shot? You don't even need to watch anything; I'd appreciate if you'd just click on the progress bar someplace beyond the ( Read more... )

This happened to me on the Showcase site when I was catching up on Haven episodes. I kept having to start the episode again, then forward past the ad breaks to where I last left off. It kept freezing up on the ad breaks. Oddly, it only happened with one episode, though I probably watched a half dozen of them (but not all in one night!).

Unfortunately, this has happened with several different episodes of several different shows over the course of three or four weeks; I haven't been able to watch anything on ctv.ca since mid-December. It wasn't so bad when they went on Christmas hiatus, but all of my shows are starting up again!

Oh well.

Which episode is Showcase up to for Haven?

It aired William on Friday (but I missed the last 15 min as I had to pick up daughter from a dance).

P.S. - did you see the email I sent you last week? I seem to recall you saying something at one time about not checking that particular email account that often.

I got the email. As soon as I can focus long enough to write an entire email in return, I'll write back. :)

Short answer: Ad Astra, yes.

I just tried the last episode of the Mentalist and it seemed to be playing fine. It would let me skip forward on the progress bar. I'm watching on a 6 year old MacBook, so it's nothing new and fancy. But it is a Mac...

Sorry I can't help more!

Actually, you mentioning MacBook, that prompted a whole word association type of thing and I tried Explorer (I usually use Firefox), and everything's fine on IE. So now I know it's something to do with my Firefox setup. That's a step in the right direction.

So, thanks!
