...yet it's still a gamble I happily take 162 days a year.
I think that's when you know that you're really a baseball fan. You know how high the potential is to get hurt, but you stick with it anyway. It's getting past what's generally inevitable and still having that love. It's a stupid, stupid sport and it hurts so fucking bad, but god is it beautiful.
I don't quite know what to say about this season. PhiloftheFuture and Joba and Robbie&Melky and Roger and Andy and fucking A-Rod! It was amazing. I just want to focus on the amazingness and not the disgusting, pathetic ending.
It really says something about fans when they know that they love something so much that they feel like they can trust their teams with their hearts. People talk a lot of shit about Yankees fans but we can love bigger than any other fans when we want to.
It was spectacular and hopefully, the Yankees use it as a bigass learning experience because they showed such resiliance to claw their way out of the bottom and get to the playoffs. It was a team that you can't help but be really freaking proud of. (At least in the regular season)
I dont think I'm ever going to get bored with these tributes everybody is making. Everybody is so creative with theirs for their own respective teams. :]
