I went to see Superbad today.  It was hilarious, but had an element of realism to it that I wasn't expecting.  I was expecting your typical teen comedy where everything's brushed up and fake, but this was the most real depiction of high school life I've ever seen.  Other than some of the absurd situations (which you do indeed sometimes find ( Read more... )

Wasn't it? I know! I was too! I totally wasn't expecting them to talk, well, like kids actually talk in high school. It was so realistic, some of it wasn't even like watching a movie, it was almost like a documentary at points. I mean, yeah, on the outside it's just a slapstick teen comedy, but I think it has something deeper than that going on.

I keep meaning to see Superbad, but I never seem to get down to the theatre in time. I don't generally go for teen comedies, but this one looks hilarious. ♥

Also, David Suchet squee is never inexplicable (even if I'm generally rooting for Inspector Japp >_>).

(I have been known to say "dot dot dot" out loud to express "...", but haven't said squee. Uh, yet.)

It's good, you'll enjoy it.

I am so glad I'm not the only one who will squee for David Suchet. Speaking of which, did you download any of those audio files I put up from The Last Confession? He's in all but one. I must say, he has a much more pleasant speaking voice with the English accent.
