Would anyone mind if I left a goat at the Burrow for a bit? It's a very nice goat and doesn't need much looking after at all, as long as you fence off the roses and put up wards around the vegetable beds.

Well the goat might help keep the gnomes and luggage in check a bit, don't you think? Goats'll eat anything, they're famous for it. And it's such a sweet goat, you should come see it some time.

Really? How odd. They're harmless though, or mostly harmless. And Mum seems to be getting on with them quite well, too.

Did you try throwing them socks? They like socks. Only one at a time, mind; pairs don't interest them. And the very small ones like odd bits of Muggle money - coins, you know. Like knuts.

The main thing is, you mustn't let them believe you're afraid of them. Not that you are, of course.

Charlie, the luggage was only supposed to be for a bit and it's been here how many months now? And you never come by to work with it. I've been taming and gifting some of the smaller pieces for a good while and you never even noticed.

Yes, yes, I can see how offering treats to the luggage would work well in training them - what sort of gifts do you give them? And why only gifts to the smaller pieces?

Anyway I'm sure the goat would get on quite well with the luggage. It could herd them. Or perhaps they would herd it. In any case it would be so interesting to watch, don't you think?

No, no, not gifting in that sense, dear. Tonks and Marcellus have a lovely diaper bag now and Remus says that Sirius is getting a lot of use out of the wallet. I never did hear back from Ginny about the shrinkable costume wardrobe, though I assume she's enjoying it as well.

But you've missed me point. Your far past the age where your parents should be caring for your pets. You may not keep your goat at the Burrow, regardless of how interesting it would be.

How clever of you to train them up like that! Unless - You don't suppose the luggages mind being turned into gifts, do you? They're well able to look out for themselves if they do, though. So it's a fine idea. I expect they quite like being useful.

The goat isn't my pet. It's the Headmaster's. He said it belonged to a friend of his - like an inheritance, you see. It's only that he asked me to look after it for him and it's a bit large for the parlour at my flat.
