Amusing sign

The queue for the security checks at Gatwick - South Terminal the Saturday before last was very, very long.
But this sign made us both smile

Repatriated shoes...how moving, really! In one of Eric Newby's travel books there is another similar phrase for 'unpaired shoes', 'scarpe...I can't remember...but it looked quite poignant. Not "impare" or 'sconsolate" but definitely with a sense of 'abandoned".
Do you feel sorry for inanimate objects? I do!

Of course, my trip to Melbourne ended up with me having to remove my shoes - which I knew I had to do anyway....

As I do tend to wear nice Yakka Steel Cap boots! LOL
