The BBC News website shows lists of the "Most read" and "Most e-mailed" articles.
For some reason this morning the most e-mailed piece was an item a few months old:
Beijing's Penis Emporium

I cannot help but think of Janice and Ray, the northern couple in the Catherine Tate's Show and their catchphrase: "The dirty bastards!"

It's a northern accent; the place they talk about is in Yorskhire.
Few people speak RP English these days: even the BBC has embraced regional accents!
